Assets and Threat Assessment

Chili’s critical assets and potential undesirable events include the following:

- People -- Death, injury, assault, medical emergency, accidents
- Equipment -- Computer/Micro malfunction, kitchen system malfunction/failure, damage, theft, security system malfunction, sprinkler systems malfunction
- Activities -- Disruption to daily operations/ disruption of communication: servers and kitchen staff
- Information -- Customer (credit card) information stolen, business/employee information mishandled, damaged or lost
- Facilities -- Natural or man-made damage to building: theft, arson/fire, vandalism


Threat Assessment:

Some of the biggest man-made threats and Impact Levels that Chili’s faces are:
Food Contamination (High), Disgruntled Employee or Customer (Medium), Bomb Threats and Shootings (Medium), Fire and Power Outages (Medium)

Some natural disasters that can directly impact the restaurant are:
- Tornados have a potential of having a High Impact on the Restaurant because of their small warning time, and potential of severe damage and effect on human life and property damage.
- Thunderstorms are predictable and their severity is unspecified; Thunderstorms have potential for severe flooding which in turn could cause critical property damage such as equipment and the facility, including important data stored in the restaurant’s technical equipment.
